Sustainability, Innovation and Customer Experience at the Core.

Why food startup KoRo and football titan Hertha BSC Berlin are not that different, as ist seems.Both can learn from each other.

The startup KoRo sells healthy food online. Hertha BSC sells merchandise for a love brand. How different can approaches to markets be? Not that different, if you look closely. Both companies exist only, because the customer and his or her experience are at the core of daily work. For KoRo it´s all about communicating the values of the products and to deliver a great UX when it comes to an online purchase. For Hertha there is a different story to tell each week. But still – in bad or in good times – customers who often are club members expect a great UX from the online shop.

One of the main ideas in developing this perfect UX – which actually will never be perfect, like both, Samii and Piran say – is personalisation. To KoRo it´s core of the business model. Packaging of goods has to be totally unique for example in terms of package sizes. This individuality makes the “boutique” style of the offer, which elsewise would not be ready for competion with big wholesellers or existing food giants.

For Hertha BSC growth is tied to the same idea. Starting from personalized products up to the new concept of in seat delivery in the stadium.

To understand customers better and to pave the street for even more e-commerce, both use social media extensively. And to serve all different interests of customers precisely, both rely on very heterogeneous teams. This might make up some fight internally but results in an even better outcome. 

And both search for innovations every single day to surprise existing and new customers and to make the brand even stronger.

So let´s ask the big Hertha, what can be learned from an agile startup. And let´s question KoRo how they see their way of becoming al love brand, and even have a club of supporters, like Hertha has. And eventually we will discuss with both, if the world needs a Koro- or Hertha-NFT.
